Social Security Question

I am considering going back to work part time. I currently receive a CalPers pension. Regarding paying into SS will my pension amount apply towards the $117,000 base for social security? As an example if I get $116,500 for my pension (I don't) and get $20,000 on my part time work do I pay SS taxes on all of the $20k of just the amount under the $117,000?
