That's it! I'm buying a Nespresso Machine!

I forgot how much we enjoyed these machines on our last Europe trip. Some hotels have them in your room, some have larger commercial machines at the breakfast buffet. Terrific expresso, so fast, easy, no mess.

And a really compact machine in a good form factor.

I had been resisting buying an espresso machine since we stopped RVing. The good ones are generally too bulky, and there are several accessories required.

I don't care about steamed milk anymore either. Easy to froth by hand cold.

The coffee pods are expensive, of course. I wouldn't use it every day.

Keurig machines do nothing for me. But Nespresso rocks!

Before you commit to the expense of the the Nepresso you might want to look at the Bialetti 6799 Moka Express 3-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker.

We had a Nepresso and got tired of shelling out bucks for the one shot capsules.

DH uses the Bialetto almost daily, you can load any coffee you want a not it, and you have lovely cappuccino in minutes.

I have a shot from our Nespresso most afternoons. Machine and pods are pricey and Nestle has really pushed hard on yearly price increases but the machines are nicely designed and the coffee tasty. There are two other pod producers. HiLine and Gourmesso, I've tried both and gone back to the pricey Nespresso pods, but they are now offering the occasional 15% - 20% discount, which I take advantage of.

Nespresson sells separately a milk frother called Aeroccino. It is pricey at $100 but DD used ours once, bought one the following week and calls it the best purchase and biggest bargain in her kitchen. DW uses it regularly to make hot frothed drinks.

I am also in the "hands on" coffee camp. I don't want to give up control of the coffee type and grind for that tiny bit of convenience.

Bialetti also makes an electric version of the classic stovetop moka pot that I used for years while I was suffering at work.

I'll still have my morning drip coffee where we grind fresh beans. This machine will be for the occasional expresso.

I don't drink a lot of coffee each day but having it exactly the way I want it is really important. I had a Nespresso cup one time and it was very good- compared to buying coffee at a fancy shop, I'm sure it's still a bargain! If you can get coffee the way you want it and in an easy to use pod, no downside from here!

(Not that we even have a shop where you can get a latte or expresso in our little town)

Absolutely. I have one espresso maker made in Austria, got it about 1968. Works just fine. Can't remember the barand or make, it is hour glass shaped with removable innards for ground cofee. Brewed on the propane stove or in winter on the woodstove top.

Still in use at my mancave, which has no commercial utilities. And would never run a generator or waste solar power charged battery enenrgy on fancy coffee makers.

I've had the Nespresso for about a year and a half, with the frother which I use every day.

Only have one a day on average. I order maybe 10 sleeves of 10 capsules and that lasts me at least half a year. Capsules are like 70 cents compared to $2-3 for espressos, even more for cappuccinos and lattes?

Of course, I do have to buy milk and use electricity to heat and filter the water as well as froth the milk. But I'd be using gas to go to the coffee shop, though I probably would consume a lot less coffee if I didn't have the machine.

Nespresso will give you a prepaid mailer bag to recycle the used capsules or you can drop them off at Sur la Table stores.

That is one reason I elected not to order from Gourmesso. They were cheaper than Nespresso but Nespresso offered like $15 off or some inducement for me to order so I went to a local store.

Our return happened to coincide with a Nespresso Machine sale until 6/21, and we ordered a Pixie Titan model for $160.

So compact! Nice! Made espresso - and with the lungo size, we've never seen so much crema!!!!! Delicious!

Williams Sonoma sends me emails on their sales. Today they had a $100 off on their Nepresso Vertuoline both online and in store. The frother is another $30.There is free shipping if you use the code. The sales are generally only for a few days or through the weekend.

I believe the Vertuo capsules cost more and those machines will only take Nespresso capsules whereas the original machines can use third-party capsules such as the Gourmesso capsules which are a bit cheaper.

Never tried the third party capsules though.

My husband read a lot of complaints about the new Vertuoline machine design. We stayed with one of the older models.
