What's with the GOLD bug?

Been reading different articles lately about GOLD ETFs and some are really fanatical about them. Especially if the value of the dollar drops. Does anybody here know anything about GOLD trends?

Too bad they don't have Precious Metals & Stones ETF. That would be pretty good I think.

You can get Vangaurd's Prec Metal fund. There are ETFs that are gold oriented. iShares has the best one b/c it does not track gold mining stocks but rather the price of gold itself.

IMHO there are better options out there for a weak dollar.

I have always found it interesting that GLD doesn't totally track the value of the metal held within the fund.
