Opened my mailbox this afternoon to find a "Welcome to Florida Blue" letter waiting for me along with a billing statement for the first month's premium. The premium amount is actually slightly less than what shows on the Marketplace (by about $4).

For reasons I won't go into here, we chose a Platinum plan with $0 deductible and $2,000 per person/$4,000 per family maximum out of pocket. After subsidy, it will run just over $600 per month. It IS an HMO plan but does not require referrals to see specialists (can see anyone as long as their in the network).

Compare that to the more than $1,900 we've been paying for what was effectively "catastrophic" coverage, and you can see why it's been important on our mind to get this all behind us (at least for 2014).

The network, at least what is showing on the BCBS website is very broad and covers everyone we've been seeing along with the major hospitals in the market. I see no difference in coverage network, at least at this stage, than we've seen all along.

So .... it appears that, though it was a real process (and I actually have 3 different Marketplace log-ins), if you can get to the actual "enrollment", the process does work.

Feeling  right now (as you can imagine).......Best of luck to everyone!

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your good news, we can hope it is the beginning of a trend!

Congratulations. Lets hope it stays like this or improves over the years.

Congrats.
Your experience seems to support the CW that FL will have some of the broadest provider networks for Exchange Plans.
