The day after a man lost his wife in a scuba diving accident, he was greeted by two grim-faced policemen at his door. "We're sorry to call on you at this hour, Mr. Wilkens, but we have some information about your wife."
"Well, tell me!" the man said.
The policeman said, "We have some bad news, some good news and some really great news. Which do you want to hear first?"
Fearing the worse, Mr. Wilkens said, "Give me the bad news first."
So the policeman said, "I'm sorry to tell you sir, but this morning we found your wife's body in San Francisco Bay." "Oh my god!," said Mr. Wilkens, overcome by emotion. Then, remembering what the policeman had said, he asked, "What's the good news?"
"Well," said the policeman, "When we pulled her up she had two five-pound lobsters and a dozen good size Dungeness crabs on her."
"If that's the good news than what's the great news?!", Mr. Wilkens demanded.
The policeman said, "We're going to pull her up again tomorrow morning."

It doesn't appear as if posting here has really helped me lose any weight but the pressure of posting has at least kept me from ballooning back up to previous weight so I guess I'll celebrate that small victory.

Good for you!
If you're really faithful to it, the pounds should start melting away.

After a week in Ireland with DD and SIL and a few days after with them in England I am delighted to see that there has been no weight increase. Given all the eating and beer drinking over this period I don't understand it but I'm not complaining.

Back to the gym this morning. The weather is lovely and we went on a long hike yesterday, but it has been a couple of weeks since we did any upper body exercise.

228. I am having trouble getting into ketosis. Not sure why, I usually get into it pretty fast. It has been raining non stop so I've been unable to walk so hopefully once I start walking I can make some progress.

Good job maintaining Alan!

Using prior week's WW weigh in. Started WW at 205.4 in mid-August, 2010

1/12 190.4
1/19 188.8
1/26 188.2
2/2 187.8
2/9 186.2
2/23 185.8
3/2 184.8
3/9 184.6
3/16 183.6
4/11 181.4
4/18 180.4
4/27 180.6
5/4 179.8
5/18 179.6
5/25 178.8

Here is what is frustrating. This seems to happen all the time. 2 or 3 days before last week's WW weigh in I was at 178.2....but on weigh in day I was at 178.8. The day before weighing in I watched my points and ate the minimum, and avoided high sodium food.

So this week on Monday morning I was at 177.2 (I currently weigh in on WW on Thursday). I ate fine on Monday and Tuesday. This morning, 178.6! Weigh in tomorrow. Sigh...I wish I had gone and weighed in on Monday....

I know exactly how you feel, the day to day variations are also unfathomable to me.

Well done Freebird. "Going down" sounds good when applied to one's weight

Congratulations Freebird & tell Mr. B to pass the chips . I am a day late to weighing in & almost skipped it but fear of gaining the weight back stopped me . I am holding steady at a 23 pound loss . The amusing thing is my two maxi sundresses are now too long . I'm not sure how that happens .
