Foot is getting better but still not 100%, found a good cure for it though. I quit drinking all soda on February 26th. After the 2nd week I had withdrawls but I guess I am not longer wanting soda, I drink a lot more water and some vitamin water here and there.

Interesting, Vinny........on February 15th I gave up ALL sodas, diet or otherwise. I feel better now. I did NOT give up my one vice, fresh brewed unsweetened iced tea. Thus, I did not get the caffeine headaches.........:)

Today: Clothed but no shoes, 136#. No weight loss, and no pig-outs or lie-ins to blame for the lack of one; but at least I have not been hungry.

I've also stopped drinking soda. I used to drink a couple of diet sodas every day. For some reason, I simply got out of the habit. I put Splenda in my tea and coffee, though.

190 lbs this morning, so -2. I'm actually only 13 pounds of fat away from 10% body fat now. At 6'2" I'm actually looking pretty thin so long as I don't take my shirt off.

187 lbs this morning, so -3 lbs.

....but I have to admit I'm starting to get tired. 8 hours of exercise a week is hard. :(

8 hours of exercise a week is hard. :(

Yet it's also hard to get serious results by doing less than that. (I would love for someone to say, "no, you're wrong, wrong, wrong" and prove that you can get really fit on 4 hours of exercise or less per week).

Don't get me wrong, the P90X workouts are a lot of fun, but if you fail to get a full night's sleep more than one or two nights, you feel like you are dragging. Then the temptation to eat bad things starts to rise as you replace sleep with food.

Still 130#, but happy to have not gained more!

Still 130# and ok with that for now. I have stopped the upward trend! Now, to get it going downward...

I have exercised every day since Sat, except for today. Will be back at it tomorrow. I packed a bag full of exercise clothes and also full of snacks. I change at work, have a snack, and head straight to the gym. So far, this is helping me workout more consistently.

Getting back to exercising and eating more fruits/vegetables

Khan, I remember when you hurt your wrist, and couldn't use your frying pan. Now that you're feeling better, are you back to manhandling the big pan once again?

Freebird...consistency is downright enviable, considering what we're hearing from you lately...lobsters, chocolate chip cookies...guess you must be feeding them all to fiance' and not having any yourself :)

Yes, took about 3 months. We are so fragile.

Am using 1 April as my own New Year Day to get back in stride.

Those are my occasional splurges. :D My trick is repeated and consistent activity, but nothing strenuous. When housebound in winter, I set my kitchen timer for 1 hour. When it chimes, I get up and do something for at least 30 minutes. It could be up and down stairs for laundry, it could be vaccuuming up dog hair, it could be jumping on my exercise bike, it could be dancing in the living room with the tunes cranked.
I eat very little during the day. I'm hoping my daytime activity exceeds my calorie intake. My next step is to get some real exercise  going with outside yardwork :D.
Normal MO for wintertime was gaining up to 5 lbs, so no weight gain is a real victory.

2-25-2009 199.7# 23.5% fat

4-1-2009 196.2# 22.4% fat
Due to a bout of bronchitis, I've cut way back on smoking.

Good idea, setting an automatic nag to remind you to get away from that puter and go do what needs to be done.

124.4lbs today

I dunno, do we allow such petite people to post on this thread? I think you should have to be at least 125#. :flowers: (How come there's no smiley for "envious"?)

Don't be a hater (as the kids say) :) -- I think I weigh that on the moon or other places where there's less gravity.

I rejoined WeightWatchers this week so I'll be reporting those losses (she said optimistically).

Anything but a hater! I apologize if I somehow sounded critical, when I was trying to give the poster a backward compliment. Somehow, those don't always come through as intended.

I would be mortified if anyone thought I really meant there should be a weight floor for this thread, or that anyone should be excluded from any thread except for breaking forum rules. :flowers: :flowers: birdsong, meadows and rainbows :)

Height: 5' 7.5" Build: Medium
Start: Weight at end of day, with clothes on but no shoes: 141# Waist 27"
Today: 135.5# Waist 26"
Goal: 133#, body fat 20% (have to get my BF measured at the gym).

This sounds pretty thin. Lots of high school girls would like to have 26" waists. You must have a womanly fat distribution.

Ha

We love to have thin people on this thread :) It's great to be in the "maintaining" mode with targets of only 2 to 3lbs to go for. ( Just like we love to have successfully FIRE'ed folks giving us all hope and encouragement to achieve our financial goals ).

I bought some resistance bands a few weeks back that hang over a doorway and it was the best $10 I ever spent. I am slowly turning my house into a stations that have exercise equipment. It is good for stretching and building metabolism.

I get up from the computer and pass the doorway and do a few quick stretches for about a minute then on my way to doing what I was doing.

I am slowly turning my house into a stations that have exercise equipment.

Just the kind of efficiency we'd expect from a FIREish person. Having your house double as a gym would save gym fees and travel to and from the gym. Assuming it's not too much wear and tear on the house, that is.

I have a favorite one-minute exercise called Air Bench that I described in an earlier post. For one 60 seconds of effort per day, I have reaped surprisingly great benefits in the hamstring and quad areas and a new spring in my step.
