Great work C_Girl, I bet it feels good to make such progress.

M_Man, thanks for the summary on how you have achieved weight loss. It certainly sounds like you should be able to shift into a maintenance mode quite easily with that approach.

I stopped posting in Oct as I was on a plateau.

Now I realize I am below 130 for the first time in ~30 years.

Now that is something to really celebrate

... with diet beer of course ;)

Nice going, CalgaryGirl--consistency is great.

I would like to step on Khan's plateau. Living proof that we doesn't have to live with extra pounds as we get older.

Week 1 (Aug. 5): Down 4.4 lbs
Week 2 (Aug. 12): Down 2.4 lbs
Week 3 (Aug. 19): Down 3.4 lbs
Week 4 (Aug. 26): Down 1.0 lbs (kind of a so-so week. I've been sick since Monday so no motivation to exercise at all. Hope to get back on the wagon next week when I'm hopefully feeling better ).

Total lost = 11.2 lbs

Good job ! Hope you feel better !

Since we have Tuesday videos and Thursday jokes and at least Mudd and I are trying to lose weight, I thought maybe we could motivate each other here with Wednesday weigh-ins!

I am male, 37, at 196 and want to be at 175 by 6/1/2007.

Wow that's great Al!

I also have reduced carbs by trending towards paleo nutrition. At first I didn't go very strict, just cut out grains but was still having some sugar in protein bars and artificial sweeteners in my diet pepsi, that was keeping my carbs below 100 grams/day. Now I cut out the sugar, and sweeteners, too to keep carbs below 50/day, and feel like I'm doing better without the sugar.

I also tried to keep my calories to my bmr of 1300/day, while adding some exercise after having been sedentary since November due to my shoulder surgeries. I exercised for about 30-45 mins. on 16 of the 28 days. Incidentally, I had tried to change my eating to paleo at one point in the spring already, but without the exercise I can't stick with it.

I started Aug 4th at 135.6 and just got weighed Aug 31 at 129 for a 6.6 lb. loss. According to the fancy scale they used, I lost 3.7 lbs. of fat but also 1.6 lbs. of muscle, which I'm a little disappointed about, so I think I need to up my calories a little so that doesn't happen, and that should make my workouts go a little better, too. I also need to figure out how to get 8 hours of sleep because lack of sleep/recovery can interfere with weight loss, too.

I'll keep at it and check in next month, reading all your entries keeps me motivated, thanks!

Well, back in May, I had to be measured for the first time in 20+ years for Navy standards. I was nearly 10# over the weight limit!!!

Hopped on scale Monday, and I do not have to be "roped & choked" as we say  Most of my clothes fit again, and I am almost back to my normal size uniforms I have been wearing since I joined the Navy!

I've been mindful of what I have been eating, and we are back with the P90X program again! (we got derailed earlier in year due to a 3 week plague that had a week overlap as he passed it on to me!)

Gearing up for ski season, fall hiking and biking, etc.

Thanks a lot you guys for releasing those lost pounds into the fatmosphere--I am going to have to work really hard on dodging them!!!

Nice going, Dawg (are you taking lite meds these days?), Moe, Al, and igsoy. Fireup, do you like the P90X?

I don't know why DW won't admit it's all her fault for bringing Oreo's into the house. She can be really stubborn at times.

SO did they same thing with chips (my biggest weakness ) . Well I may have asked him to but that is beside the point .

I wouldn't worry about that at all. I'm assuming it's one of those scales that calculates your body fat % via some kind of conductance measurement. If so, those are quite inaccurate. If it's off by only 2%, that's 3 pounds right there.

Fireup, do you like the P90X?

Love it! We roll out of bed, trump down to basement and bounce around in the am...before we get going for the day. It ain't pretty - but it seems to be working! SO is getting a copy of the shorter versions (less time) - these all run about an hour - will keep posted when those make it here.
