Researching quality of Medicare access for a potential move?

Like the title says, not yet Medicare age, but on the horizon.

DW and I are considering relocating in the near term.

Realize that we should probably get some level of comfort on the quantity, and quality, of Medicare accepting Healthcare professionals in a potential location.

Any thoughts/experiences on how best to gain a level of comfort on this issue for particular locations?

If you look at a town that has a significant part of its population over 65 then the market forces physicians to accept medicare if they want any patients.
