- Retired from the U.S. Navy (active reserves) as an O-5 in 1988 with 21+ years in. Gator Navy & WestPac communications on AD '67-'71; Naval Security Group '71-'88. Slid through the retired-with-pay gate in 2005.
Also retired from the 3rd largest commercial bank (depending on who's acquiring whom!) in the U.S. in 2001, rather than move to NYC just prior to 09/11 - the best decision I ever made.
Voluntarily staying in the Finger Lakes area of New York State, with the lake 20 feet from the windows. Will always trade our over-publicized winters for the 3 seasons of superb weather that we see every year. No earthquakes, no tornadoes, no hurricanes, no volcanoes, and you can't die from a snowstorm unless you have to go to w#rk in the middle of it!
