The mainstream media is already dead.

True, a slow death. Many don't like Microsoft for dominating the desktop and I am not a fan but still will use the OS & Mediaplayer, but I think Microsoft is becoming slowly irrelevant also. What I have misgivings about now is Google, I think we will be relying on them for Internet applications, portals, email, etc. They will come to dominate the internet and thus whatever applications flow from there.
We will be left with less choices.
