Happy New Year and here's hoping for a peaceful and PROFITABLE 2006!!!!!!!!!

As to the wheat bread, enough. As a Texan we need some tortilla stories :D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Professor

I would like to see more pump-her-nickel jokes.

I'm on the South Beach diet and need to reduce the amount of bread I eat. :D

I always have time to digest more corn bread. ;)

Keep the jokes coming, but that Jarhead character is starting to bug me. ;)

Jarhead

I think they should continue to be told until we run out of nasal milk and dryer sheets to wipe it up with.

Here is Jarhead on his Rose Parade wheat bread float:

Note the age of the young ladies on the float, the strategically located bowl, and the big smile on his face.

Looks like Jarhead may have officially reached DOM status.

(For Jeb-NY: Dirty Old Man ;))

:D Actually, it looks to me like he is a Navy Cook.

Holding a big bowl of S.O.S. Um, Um, good ;)

It's raining for the first time since 1955, for the Rose Bowl Parade. (Just started).

Hope it clears up before the 4th. (I want the Longhorns on
a "dry-track".) ;)

At day 97 of a 90-day submarine patrol we were darn glad to have it. It made a nice break from peanut butter & crackers, although there was considerable controversy over just how authentically the first "S" was acquired for the recipe...

I say, though, Jarhead, it must have hurt to be caught in public wearing a whitehat. How'd you ever unscrew the garrison cap?

The wheat bread poll will close at midnight Central Standard Time.

You do not have to be present to win. All decisions of the judges will be final.

Sara Lee - classic white here.

Being an old Pac 10 guy (Uof W) - I'm torn between my 'boo CA teams in the Rose Bowl' and Texas.

I like the old days and the new ranking system not so much.

Nords:  Switched to Velcro some time ago. ;)
S.O.S. was my favorite U.S.M.C. breakfast.
(A couple helpings of that, and you had your calorie count covered for the day). :D

Speaking of Subs, have you seen the movie "Hunt for Red October?"  (One of Tom Clancy's Books).  Movie made in 1990, and based on Cold War Era Military.  (Subs).

I saw the movie when originally out, but hadn't seen it in years. I was having some trouble sleeping the other night, and said to hell with it,
and happened to catch it on "Showtime".

A great movie with an interesting theme.  (Sean Connery played the "defecting" Russian Sub Commander.

If you saw the movie, or read the book, would be interested in hearing your take on the authenticity of the technology.  (Most of the movie was shot in the two opposing Subs).

Unclemick: One of my fondest memories in the old Rose Bowl era. (Pac-10 versus Big-10), was in the late 50's when University of Washington had a left-handed, blind in one eye quarterback
(Schlorett), that beat the big 10.

The big 10 for about 10 years had been dominating the Pac 10, and that win by Washington was a water-shed event that turned things around for west coast football.

The polls have officially closed, the vote has been tallied and there will be no more wheat bread / Jarhead jokes. It is the end of an era. :dead:

However, I understand research is underway to study a possible connection between the ED drug Cialis and sourdough bread. I'll keep you posted on what I find out. ;)
