Congratulations first of all to Dory on his demotion.
We all have him to thank for giving us a place to go to that didn't cost anything (well I did give $100+ ), when Motley Fool decided to cash in and charge for the forums that volunteer moderators and posters built up for them.
I have looked at this forum as a labor of love by Dory, the moderators and posters and that gave it a special vibe to me - a not for profit probably a money losing rebel enterprise - a quasi charity - I managed to deduct the donation on my tax forms but tell no one about this.
I guess I need some understanding about what happened and what will happen with this evolution.
It seems like this is going to be part of an ad driven business - a professional one with paid staff...with a business plan....we would be valued under assets or liabilties? Hey! Watch it! Keep it to your self buddy! I can see the possibility that this growing collection of social sites that belong to Social Knowledge, LLC http://www.socialknowledge.net/ will someday be sold to a larger business and that may be where the bucks are made, not that there's anything wrong with that, after all, this is America Samir!
Dory certainly took on the expense and hours of labor to host this great site and he certainly has every right to cash out (did you? or did you just give it away?) and enjoy his time.
Questions:
1. How much did you receive from Social Knowledge LLC?
Curious what a site like this is worth.
2. Can we expect the forum to remain as it is?
3. Will Dory and the old moderators remain?
4. Will Dory & the old moderators continue calling the shots?
Thanks again for the ER Forum Dory and most or all thanks to the moderators and most of the posters who have made it a special place. Hope it remains so.
