I have recently seen several of the Oscar winners and all I can say is " What were they thinking " . Michael Clayton - boring , Atonement - okay but keep the controls ready to fast forward the slow parts , Juno - How did this ever get nominated . What happened to movies that are just entertaining ?

What didn't you like about Juno?

I think 2007 was rather lousy movie year. No country for old men, some good performance but not good movie IMO. Micheal Clayton, I thought was good, but far from Oscar caliber, same thing with In the Valley of Elah Juno and There will be blood are on my queue.

It must be very difficult to make a good movie. Of every 10 movies I record/borrow from library, I'd say I only like 1-2 of them.

That's one reason I never go to a movie theater.

American companies make 500 movies per year.
