tax deferred products?

I know one of the reasons why people choose a tax deferred product is to lower their income for that fiscal year. Now is that also assuming when you decide to pull the money out after retirement you'll be in the lower tax brackets?

That is the reasoning behind it, but sometimes that bites you in the rear, because we don't know what the future holds.

Me personally, I am maxing out my Roth and then throwing money in TSP. Kinda like playing both sides of the court!
