ER haiku - any takers?

Man from Nantucket
What do you do all day sir?
I don't want to know.

No dryer sheets here
Mine hang on lines in the sun
Frugal, fun and free.

What is this ER
Quitting in the spring of life
A dream come alive

What is this ER
Quitting in the spring of life
A dream come alive

I really like this one but I am thinking about a different word to use than "quitting". Reason? I think most if not all people here worked really hard for a long time and accomplished much during their working careers while keeping the goal of ER in mind. Can't really call that "quitting" in my mind.

The best alternative I have come up with so far is "basking". :)

What is this ER
Stop work in the spring of life
A dream come alive

Oh to retire
From the soul sucking mire
Of eternal work

Last words, on departing
Federal work place:
"Now, you all work for me."

Amethyst

In 5 years I see
better life ahead for me
retired and free!

cool water flowing
smooth stone singing with gladness
as I dream of peace

Searched "retirement"
Found great info on website
My life has been changed

"Got no strings to hold
Me down, make me fret, make me
Frown-had strings, now free"

Used quotes cause it's probably coyrighted from "Pinochhio" but I paraphrased it!

Will be ME in another few months...got the scissors sharp and ready!!!!

Loved this concept !!!! Will finally be free of the all the strings pulling in all the directions but the one I want to go in......
