Has anyone been to Grand Cayman lately? Any suggestion regarding where to stay or what to do?

We stayed on the beach here: Grand Cayman Hotels | Marriott Grand Cayman Island Beach Resort
It was nice.
But that was about 12 years ago. Many nice chain hotels on the beach..... condos for rent also.
There are some nice restaurants that are not affiliated with the hotels so consider venturing out. The Almond Tree was nice. It is a little pricey but not bad. But we were there awhile ago... so do your research.
We took a snorkeling tour on a small catamaran. It was a little more expensive than the mega boat tours... but more personalized and well worth the few extra dollars. We had one other couple and a family of four. 8 total... We went to some great spots to snorkel that did not have hundreds of people thrashing around scaring the sea life.
If you are into the water/snorkeling... consider checking out stingray city or stingray sandbar.

What to do:
1) SCUBA dive! If you're not certified yet, get your certification before you go. It'll be worth it.
2) Stingray City.
3) The Turtle Farm.
4) Hell (yes, that's the name of it).

The place has changed a lot for accomodations over the years. We always like to stay at a Hotel on Seven Mile Beach, but we usually stay at smaller places & over the years many of these were torn down & replaced with Mega Hotels. Last time we stayed in a quieter Condo on Seven Mile Beach.
If you don't dive, there are many Snorkle Tours offered. One of our favorites is Eden Rock which is right down town in the Harbor area - great for snorkle or Dive & there is a Scuba shop right there. There are also Shipwrecks underwater you can visit whether you Snorkle or Dive - its all good!
We like to spend one night eating dinner at the Lobster Pot. At Sunset they take out fish carcases and throw them to the Tarpons (very large fish) It is quite a show. Other restaurants do this, but not at quite the lengths at this place.
Now we actually bypass Grand Cayman entirely and visit the outer islands, Cayman Brac & Little Cayman. They are less Glitzy & more relaxed island life. Usually we stay in an all inclusive dive resort there, these places are small & there are only one real "resort" per island....a bit of a Gilligans Island feel to it and the beaches are quiet, diving is amaaazing!
