Surgeons describe new ligament in the human knee

Some Belgian anatomists found a never before described knee ligament. Also, it appears that it may be important in some fairly common knee injuries.

Dissections have been going on for hundreds of years, and new aspects of gross anatomy are still being discovered. It's amazing.

This is a newly evolved ligament that has only existed since shortly after the invention of basketball. Earlier anatomic studies didn't describe it because it didn't exist back then. It just shows how adaptable we humans are.
