Super Bowl Sunday is approaching and some of us will be hosting or attending parties. Let's share some of our favorite cocktails, beers, or other enjoyable beverages that people may want to try out. Disclaimer: don't drive if you've had too much to drink!

Here's my family's favorite:
Sangria Recipe

* 1 cup peach brandy
* 1/2 cup lemon juice
* 2/3 cup frozen lemonade concentrate
* 2/3 cup orange juice
* 1 (1500 milliliter) bottle dry red wine
* 1 cup triple sec
* 2 lemons, sliced into rounds
* 2 oranges, sliced into rounds
* 2 limes, sliced into rounds
* 1/2 cup white sugar/splenda (optional)
* 16 maraschino cherries
* Variety of raspberries, blackberries and blueberries.

DIRECTIONS
1. In a large pitcher or bowl, mix together the brandy, lemon juice, lemonade concentrate, orange juice, red wine, triple sec, and sugar. Float slices of lemon, orange and lime, and maraschino cherries in the mixture. Refrigerate overnight for best flavor. For a fizzy sangria, add club soda just before serving.

If we stay in, I'll have SanTan Devils Ale or Lumberyard red ale. Both Arizona beers. If we go out, I'll have whatever craft beer the establishment has.

Sounds interesting. I do like whiskey and scotch. I love a single malt scotch called Battlehill. 20 years. Hard to find though.
I have a bit of loch dhu. It is hard to find especially in the states. I don't believe it was aged as much as you like.. unless you consider sitting in the bottle as aging.

Sounds good! I miss drinking beer. My heart condition doesn't like the carbs. Red wine and scotch are my everyday drinks. Sangria and a few mixed cocktails I gave when out or on vacation, or special events.

what heart conditions restrict such fun? Or have I been ignoring my cardiologist?

I guess it's sacrilege, but my plan is:

(1) To drink nothing but tap water on Superbowl Sunday; and
(2) To exert all my effort in the attempt to avoid watching any of the Superbowl

I know, good grief, what kind of American AM I? :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, my recipe for tap water, my most enjoyable beverage, is:
Put glass under faucet (right side up).
Turn on faucet.
Turn off faucet.

There! Now you have a nice glass of water that will quench your thirst, and will not make you drunk or cause you to gain weight.

DW and I have just started (again after a lifetime) doing Irish Coffee. It ain't new age, or elaborate but awhile back we were watching a movie at home, it was cold and wet outside. I had some Jamesom in the cabinet. Made a pot of decaf and along with some whipped cream on top it reminded us of when we were dating having a warm glass of it at the Cliff House in San Francisco.

LOL. Reminds of my older brother...the engineer. Years ago I walked into his house while carrying a store bought bottled water. He sighed and said, "RJ, if you turned on your faucet and beer came out, would you buy beer?"

Thank you for starting this thread. I'm going to surprise DW with a growler of her favorite peanut butter stout beer. ;)

Ah super bowl Sunday coming up. I always party hearty, even if it's only me - :)

This year it'll be me and the GF. Rum & Cokes with chips and dip, brie and crackers, beer of course and I'm thinking something easy like burgers for the entree.

And the game with all the ads and the halftime show on the big screen with full surround sound.

Nothing wrong with water, as long as it's clean!

Plaque buildup in all my arteries. Cardiologist said red wine good, beer is bad. Too many of the wrong kind of carbs. He tells me an occasional scotch is okay.

I have 12 gallons of Scotch ale aging in a Peated Bourbon oak barrel that I was hoping to keg and enjoy drinking while watching the Steelers kick some Falcon feathers. Now I will have to root for the Falcons over the Pats, if I even watch it. The ale will still be great and plentiful.

As a Citizen of the South now, I am required by Law to drink a mandated amount of Bourbon each year. I've been working my way along the Bourbon shelf at the LIquor Store and discovered that Gentleman Jack is the smoothest Mash ever created. A generous pour into a glass, a few ice cubes for the sound effect, and a splash of water to let it breathe.

I intend to take my Legal Responsibilities seriously and will probably fulfill my Annual Mandate during Halftime because Lady Gaga's Music does absolutely nothing for me.

Main beverage will no doubt be Lake Placid Ubu Ale, an English Strong Ale, very robust and heavy, the way I like it. Interspersed with a can or two of the less urbane but quite serviceable Hurricane Malt Liquor, for contrast.

Foothills Brewing People's Porter for me.
