I'm DONE!!!!

I just handed in my two weeks notice to my V.P. - April 30th will be my last day of w**k! I'm lighting my torch, and heading to the farm.

The last year has been brutal. But I have (had?) a good team of great people, and it helped to know that I was able to make things at least tolerable for them by serving as the B.S. filter. The only positive part of this last year is that it eliminated any doubt as to whether it was time to retire .

No OMY syndrome here!!!!!

YIPPEEE!!!!!!

congratultions.... next 2 weeks will probably feel like 2 months, but you'll appreciate the fact that your 'give a shi$$er' will kick in and you won't care

Yeah, it's going to be an interesting two weeks. I'm waiting to see what the President's reaction will be - I may be out the door this afternoon! (which, in all honesty, I wouldn't mind one iota)

Congratulations. ..........but what will you do all day?

Boy, would I have loved the instant ejection rather than the lingering 2 weeks I ended up with. Water under the bridge at this point, and soon it will be for you too.

Congrats!

What was the VP's reaction? Was he/she expecting it? Does your company know you're completely done or do they think you're moving to a new company? Just curious.

Wheeee! (I guess it's okay to say that for this event.) Congratulations.

I'm still waiting for the President to be told. The V.P. was waiting until after lunch to tell him, but the President unexpectedly took the afternoon off, so I'm sort of in limbo.

V.P. set up an appointment for tomorrow morning, so guess I'll find out his reaction then.

What will I do all day? LOL - play in my gardens, an maybe even go to Café du Monde on a WEEKDAY and have a relaxed cup of cafe au lait with beignets, but without the throngs of tourists!

In the whole scheme of things, what does it matter what the President thinks?

You're free one way or the other in two weeks or tomorrow. Congrats!

Congratulations, I left my Megacorp as of 4/30/13. Enjoy!

As you say, it's not going to be my problem very soon. Life is Good!

The V.P., who is a close friend, wasn't surprised. Said he was amazed I'd stayed as long as I had, said some nice things about appreciating everything I've done, how he and the rest of the management team was going to miss me, that I've "been the glue holding the technical teams together", etc., etc., etc.,

Overall, he did a nice job of making feel I had been appreciated.

Congrats!! Your post provided me with a nice flash back to my last days at w??k. Those were good times!

Enjoy!

Well..... This has gotten interesting.

My V.P. got together with the President today and gave him my resignation.

And his. Effective the same day.

Told me "it wasn't going to be any fun" once I left, and he's had enough.

The plot thickens...maybe the President will give the VP's resignation, yours and HIS to the CEO!!!

Now that is interesting! Congratulations. That tells me the V.P. has a great deal more respect for you than for the company. Enjoy your last days at work.

I love that cartoon - actually have a copy of it pasted to the wall of my workshop!

I guarantee the President won't be tendering his resignation - he may have to go back to corporate in Tokyo in shame, but he will not commit seppuku.
