Ok. That's one of my hobbies too. Just unloaded and unpacked a ton of parts. Knuck and Pan jugs... A seat pogo ...

As for the screen name ... knuckleheads were earlier than 61...

Am finally restoring the first Harley I owned... I bought it used at age 18 , and hung on to it since. Sat for 20 years as I rode newer Harley's. It's a 1976 FXB shovelhead ... Newer than your preferred bikes but this one I re-build to ride daily !!

Full advance spark at 38 degrees before TDC to static time them, as I recall ... Ha ha.

Life is good !

I've been retired since June 5th. So far, I've been reading like crazy, spending lots of time with my daughter and 5 grandchildren, walking an average of 45 minutes daily, cooking new recipes, planning trips and cleaning out cabinets.

I have too many hobbies. The main ones are probably urban homesteading and just enjoying lots of outings and day trips - parks, museums, gardens, the zoo, hiking in the Redwoods, picnics, planetarium and plays. We also have a couple of IT related hobby businesses.

I have been FIRE'ed since 2012 and my hobbies are:
1) Any kind of Fishing, Bass, Fly (trout), Surf, and Pier
2) Going to the beach
3) Camping
4) Golf
5) Grandkids
6) Home Projects (they never end)
7) College sports (I say War Eagle!, DW says Roll somthing?)
8) Traveling
9) Reading

Toys:
1) Bought property in and RV Resort at the beach.
2) Bass Boat and fishing equipment
3) Sea Doo
4) 2 - RV's, One stays at the beach
5) Dodge Ram 3500 to pull RV
6) Golf Clubs

@House Divided, I too love any kind of fishing. Just bought my ER retirement present to myself, Bass Tacker TX 175. ERing in two weeks and moving near Lake Guntersville. Can't wait.

I was planning on getting back into Falconry and Pigeon Racing after FIRE. But it limits the amount of time I can be away.

Both are great sports, and not as many people in them. Hunting with a raptor is one of the best types of hunting there is.

Or seeing your racing pigeon set it's wings as it comes home after a 600+ mile race, on the same day, is a great feeling.

I've had a few more significant things to do, but I've had a whole lot of fun with cheap quad copters lately. If you gave me a video game, I'd have been bored in ten minutes, but something about flying something for real...and maybe having it end up stuck in a tree...that is engaging. And it gets me outdoors.

Seng, this is what you need to be flying! DH (finally) took his first paramotor flight today, after weeks of ground training with his kite. Yeah, he's enjoying retirement.

He's up in Warrenton, VA for training and heading to a fly-in in WV this weekend.

I knew that I wanted to have several hobbies to keep me busy during retirement. But I may have overdosed on hobbies. I now have too many hobbies to fit into my lifestyle, to the point where I don't get to some hobbies for several months. This is one of the reasons why I have decided to stop brewing my own beer. And after brewing nearly 70 batches in five years, it began to feel like work.

I've got to go to our lake house today across town to cut grass and do electrical work. I've been rebuilding a balcony and screen porches the last year--hard labor. I never seem to stop building something.

We're also into boating--since we have double boathouse in our front yard. And every retiree needs to have a boat and a Waverunner for 4 and 7 year old grand kids to drive us around on.

We also are RV'ers, with a fifth wheel trailer in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. We go up there during some weeks and go to our lake house weekends.

Awww, dang! I'll give you more notice for a future visit--he's going to be up there a good bit between now and the Icarus in October, getting his longer flights in. Considering that I stuck him in the Warrenton HoJo for this trip, he's hoping for something nicer than a tent next time!

I play softball with 2 retired AA pilots and they each have one of these. One built his from the kit, the other bought a completed plane. I was asking the guy who built his about it and he offered to take me up for a ride and said he would let me take the stick. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun.

Take him up on it! I got to briefly fly one and they are a lot of fun. Light on the stick and rolls are easy.
