Best and worst company slogans

I think "the beer to have AFTER you've had a few of the good ones and can't taste the difference any more" would be truth in advertising.

Schafer beer, a NY brand, used to sing "The one beer to have when you're having more than one."

Mike D.

That's what it was. One of my suitemates had a sign with that on it in college. I thought it was Natty Light but must have drank too many of them because the memory is a little fuzzy.

That's the perfect slogan for cash strapped college kids.

I remember that one- way back in the early 60s. Beer excels in this area.

Blatz is the name you will always hear,

Mabel, Black Label!
Carling's Black Label Beer
It's the premium brew at a popular price

Call-Mabel, Black Label

Clarita- ¡La Cerveza Mas Cerveza!

Thunderbird!

Thirty Twice
What's the reason?
Grapes are in season!

Even Rye bread-

Ruble's is the bread we favor,

Men's hair oils are pretty good too:

Use Wildroot Cream Oil Charlie, It's Made With Soothing Lanolin

Brylcreem, A little dab'll do ya,
Brylcreem, the gals will all pursue ya...

And women's hair products-

Which Twin Has the Tony?

Gum-

Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Taste.. (Oh yeah baby!!!) Growing up prior to easy access to pornography those Doublemint girls were really popular.

I smile every time I drive by one of the billboards:

As I recall the jingle, it was "double you pleasure, double your fun" as the viewer observed the Doublemint twin gals in the background. It sure got my interest in buying some gum.

OK, my interest had nothing to do with gum...:ROFLMAO:

I can't buy "Deer Park" water. I think about deer running around like canada geese...

Yes, I know the name has nothing to do with the actual water source.

About 10 years ago I worked a 4 or 5 month assignment in the Chicago burb of Long Grove and on my daily commute saw a billboard advertising the Ash-Wipe Chimney Sweeps.

It is still there

Remember Zenith, "The Quality Goes In Before The Name Goes On"? I sold for them back then. Back in the shop we'd say, "The quality goes in before the name falls off".

Worked with some field engineers that installed mainframe computers that contained lots of Junkosha cables. Sometimes after long hours on a big install they were known to spontaneously break into song singing "Look For Junkosha Cables" to the melody of the "Look For the Union Label" song.

There's a plumbing company in this area of the country (Ia.-Il. border) who's commercial is set to a little ditty that ends with: "..our number one is your number two." Really. So classless it's hysterical.
And then there are all those Fuk Kee Chinese restaurants all over the country. Fuk Kee must mean something in Chinese, but in English...hey....

The Kyu family own a local noodle shop called Pho Kyu. "Pho" is a type of Vietnamese soup/noodles pronounced "fuh".

Cool. I was staying in Vernon Hills and as I recall the sign was on N Milwaukee Ave.

Yep, it is on Milwaukee Ave - Vernon Hills, Wheeling, thereabouts - I've passed that sign many times.

Makes me wonder though, aren't most homes with fireplaces a bit more "up-scale"? So would up-scale clients really want to do business with a company with such a de-classe' sounding name? I dunno, the sign HAS been there a long time, so I guess they are doing OK.
