I have something that works for us. Boil the eggs. When I want soft, and just barely cooked it's 8 mins. Fully cooked is ten mins (my family doesn't like runny eggs). If you cook them too long they get that green tinge around the edge of the yolk. Unappealing and not good for us, I think...
