    Coronavirus - Travel impacts II

I paid for it December of last year. I think it may be too late to dispute it. I told travel agent 4 times since March 23rd to cancel it. They reply with phone call giving me option to change date. Trafalgar not giving refunds. I heard federal government pressure airlines to give refunds...

    Florida Healthcare Costs

Silver, their 2015 plans are listed on their website. Of the 6 plans I am tracking, only one is missing (4200/8400 ded). The 2014 plans on bcbsfl.com matched the healthcare.gov plans for highlands county Florida.

    Obamacare and early retirement

I'm paying $500.88/mo for a non-aca compliant plan for my wife and I (age 59/61). $10,500 ded/zero copy. I retired and moved from Ohio to Fl so my plan will be transferred from Anthem to Florida Blue Cross Blue Shield(only aca choice in Highlands county Fl). I am being FORCED on an ACA...

    Obamacare and early retirement

I don't understand your comment. The money would have to come from higher premiums and new younger enrollees. I know for a fact my premium tripled with less coverage.

    Florida Healthcare Costs

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida updated their website today with 2015 healthcare costs. I see a 22% increase in their plans that cover a wider range of providers (Blue Options) and a 11-12% increase in their plans with limited providers (Blue Select).

    Obamacare and early retirement

I'm in the same boat as you ripper1. I need to draw about 65-70K from IRA's to live on. I am paying $500/mo for a non-aca 10K ded plan for my wife and I. We moved to Fl and will loose our policy the end of this year. The ACA comparable plan will cost $1474/mo(Florida Blue Options 1419) with...

    5 different calculators

Yes, the FRIP matches my assets. All of my assets are in ira's, mutual funds and cd's. I used "full view" to add them to my fidelity account. I then selected the ones I wanted to use in my FRIP including my wifes ira. In my budget I also segmented my health insurance and vacation expenses...

    5 different calculators

Fidelity retirement income planner does take taxes into consideration. Also, you should fill out the budget section as it uses 7% inflation for health care. When I filled out the budget, I went from funds left over to a shortfall. If you put all of your assets in, it will take after tax...

Were you successful in the ACA signup

I finally got my identity verifed in mid December. My anticipated sticker shock came true. Luckly, I purchased a NON aca compliant plan 10K ded for wife and I for less then $500 month starting 12/31/13. Similar ACA plan with 12500 ded was over $1200 a month. I have to wonder how much of this...

Linny, I totally agree with you. I retired 12/21/13 and feel the same as you. No stress as I work a couple of hours a day on projects around the house.

The Individual Health Insurance Market vs PPACA

I'm moving from Ohio to Florida so I'm looking for the best price for next year. In Highlands County Fl., the best ACA rate I can find is $992.88 for a $12,500 ded plan. If my UHC plan get underwritten, it will be out of Ohio.
