I'm happy to report that I successfully got laid-off with a generous severance package (5-months free COBRA, 5-months pay as severance, 25% of unvested-RSUs accelerated vesting) on Monday! I'm already enjoying being retired!

Today is the 10 year anniversary of my joining this forum, AND today I told my boss I'm retiring this year (exact date still tbd)! So thankful for all the advice I got on this forum over the last 10 years.

Amazing - this is exactly the same thing we did at the same time! In hindsight, it would have been better to buy stocks in 2009, but it sure didn't feel like a good idea at the time. I don't regret not having a mortgage though.
