Hurricane "Ian" may be heading for us here in Florida

For those whose homes were flooded there is also mold to contend with, as reported yesterday in the New York Times. Many reports of looting as well.

    New Variant Vaccine

Reported on my local news this morning, flu season this year is expected to be worse than the last couple years, based on the Australian season so far which is ahead of ours. They also speculated flu may have been less prevalent recently due to covid precautions. I had a high dose flu shot and...

Hurricane "Ian" may be heading for us here in Florida

Heard from DB on Merritt Island this morning. No problems, nothing going on except part of an already rickety old fence blew down. Said eye of the storm was over him right then and 37 mph winds expected thereafter. No power outages or flooding on the island.

    New Variant Vaccine

Thanks skipro33 for the info! I had tried to look up the strengths of Moderna vs Pfizer but didn't have as much luck as you. I had no side effects to speak of with my 3 Pfizer covid shots (1 was a booster). With the fourth, Moderna booster shot, I felt ill for the first time afterward---but...

    New Variant Vaccine

Yes, so far, so good, Katsmeow! You are getting through this. My aunt says the same thing happens to her iPad posts all the time---very frustrating.

    Another Cataract Surgery Thread

Following with great interest as I expect to have cataract surgery sometime next year. Am severely nearsighted and have worn monovision contacts for at least 15 years. I spend many hours per day reading on my computer, and also books. The freedom from glasses is wonderful and I would hate to...

review of Time Restricted Eating studies

I second this endorsement of the excellent Cronometer. Have used it for many years to track my daily nutrient and calorie intake. That and intermittent fasting (time restricted eating) have both been tremendously beneficial to my health and happiness.
