Harlingen, TX here. We have been coming to this area for 12 years, in the winter. In 2019, we bought a home here. We planned to travel in the summer (RV) and winter here. 2020 changed that. We have been here since October, 2019. But, we are getting ready to travel in 2021. Ya, it's hot...

2020 was our first year with Geico. Our 1mil umbrella policy with Geico went up 34% from 2020 to 2021. No claims, same vehicles and home as the year before. No rentals. I didn't renew.

We retired and sold our house in 2006. Traveled the country in our RV and parts of the world for 13 years. DW had never camped before, said she would do it for 2 years. We wouldn't trade our time RVing. So many memories, and we have almost 25k pictures to show we have been there...

We have our truck, RV and umbrella policy with the same company. For 2021, the truck and RV went up 1.56% from 2020 rates. We have homeowners insurance with another company, and a barely used motorcycle with a third company that I feel some loyalty toward. But the umbrella policy went up 34.11%...

Went today to local CVS to get Shingrix first dose. A few questions, temp check, and sign some papers. 10 minutes max. Oh, and $175. I haven't met my Medicare part D deductible ($435).

First patient arrived yesterday. It's at the McAllen Convention Center. It is for recovering Covid patients. 50 beds to start, can be expanded to 250. Another is ready to open soon in Harlingen.

I used it for 2017 and 2018 federal taxes. I confirmed the numbers with a pay online tax program that I never completed. My taxes are not complicated.

I replaced the sink in my bathroom with a vitreous china sink that fit in the same hole, but had a wider lip. I should have put in a new faucet, and replace the pop-up drain. New sink has an overflow liner, I didn't realize it was a different type of drain. I may change that out soon...

Oh, ya. Prices are up since 2006. In my spreadsheet, I give every month a $ goal, and also have a yearly cost goal. 2006-2010, the goal was under $600 a month. In 2010, raised the goal to $750 a month. In 2018, raised the goal to $1000 per month. Sounds like big jumps, but over the...

Yes, in the summer, we stay one place often for a week, and at least once for a month. We have tried a few places for the winter (Florida, Arizona, Texas) and enjoy far south Texas the most. Now, it feels like home.

13 year full-time RVers. Last spring, we bought a winter place in the RGV, since we have been going there nearly every winter. It needs some work. We plan to spend 6 months in the RGV, and 6 months traveling in our RV. More or less...... We left Texas July 1, and are in the Colorado...

We have been full-time RV travelers since we retired in 2006, 13 years ago. No house, just a commercial storage room. I have been places I never imagined seeing, domestic and overseas. In April, we bought a winter home in the the Texas RGV. I hope to continue traveling in the hot summer...
