    Honda CR-V Owners

I bought a 2018 CRV EX-L about 6 months ago and absolutely love it. I have driven Jeep Grand Cherokees for the previous 20 years. I test drove almost all the midsize and crossover SUV’s before this purchase. The comfort, safety features, style, engine power, and interior features of the CRV...

    Favorite winter comfort foods

My favorite would be a fresh hot vanilla latte with fresh-out-of-the-oven peach pie.

    Beware the Rom Con

My friend had this exact scenario happen to her. I wonder if it was the same guy - it was the same story with the oil rig and working a top secret project.. Luckily she didn’t send him any money but he was such so charismatic and seemingly honest and caring for about a month before any mention...

RIFed due to COVID-19, the slate is wiped clean

Congrats on thinking ahead and setting up your financial independence. And thank you for your service to our country. I don’t know your business plan for coaching but wanted to mention that it’s ideal to have online coaching programs, online courses, and downloadable training guides for sale in...

    Are you still an athlete?

I was a competitive gymnast growing up and coached for a number of years. I took some adult gymnastics classes, went to open gym sessions, and loved trampoline parks. I could still do back handsprings on the trampoline at 40 but then got hit with a few autoimmune diseases. While I can’t do any...

Poll: Minimum time retired to not feel cheated?

I chose one year. I have worked for myself for the past 14 years doing work that I love, on my own terms. I have some chronic health issues and want to continue my work as long as I can. While I am excited at the prospect of retiring early, my perspective has changed a bit since the health...

    Delicious, Healthy Foods

Fresh cherries and peaches would be my top two. Pretty sure I could eat huge amounts of roasted brussel sprouts, lobster, crab legs, and perfectly cooked fresh salmon.

Poll - Prince Harry - Beard or No Beard for Wedding?

I didn’t get up early to watch but was excited to see videos and pics of the wedding. I worked in the events industry and have always loved weddings.

What did you do today? 2018 version

We are in a Harry Potter movie marathon with our 10 year old daughter. It’s fun to see her excitement when watching them. I forgot how good they are.

February, the most useless/boring month of the year

I have always felt that way about January. I enjoy the holidays then it’s doom and gloom in January. February has always been fun to me - my birthday, Valentines Day, and we always do a week long vacation in February (heading to San Diego in a week). We have barely had a winter yet in Denver...

    Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

Yeah, POTS is such a frustrating syndrome. I developed it just over 2 years ago as a result of nerve damage from an autoimmune disease. I had never even heard of it before it hit me. From WebMD about POTS: POTS is a fast heart rate (tachycardia) that starts after you stand up. This can suddenly...

    Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

I am hyper mobile but don’t meet all the criteria for EDS. I also have a few of the common comorbid conditions that can go along with it. Looking back at my younger years, it helps explain my ridiculously flexible ankles, especially the right one which I broke 4 times.

    This weather is awful!! 2008-2021

I have been following the snow reports in Erie. I went to college there and just can’t believe the amount of snow this week! Hopefully the rest of winter is much more calm and dry.

OK, fess up, what did Santa bring you ?

I received enough in Visa gift cards and cash to order myself a new Apple Watch. It just arrived today and I love it so far. Such an upgrade from my old Fitbit. I also received a Vera Bradley travel bag and purse.

Merry Xmas & Happy New Year

Merry Merry Christmas! It truly is my favorite day of the year. Such a joy to watch DD (9 years old) open her gifts and see her excitement. And our chocolate lab was hilarious with sniffing out her gifts under the tree and going crazy with her new toys. We (DH, DD, the dog, and I) enjoy...

Are People Really Extra Busy During the Holidays?

I have been busier this month but I love the holidays. I sent cards out, put up the tree and some decorations with the help of DH and DD, and did most of the shopping online (we don’t have too many to buy for). Neither of us have family here and most of our close friends travel over Christmas...

What did you do today? 2017 version

I’ve been watching it snow nonstop (in the CO mountains) since I woke up around 7am. I think it’s around 14” so far today and still snowing hard. The forecast says it will end around midnight and be clear tomorrow morning. I am hoping the roads will be decent so we can drive back to our house in...

What did you do today? 2017 version

We have been at our mountain condo for the past few days. It was -1 when we got up this morning. I had lunch with a friend then watched DH and DD at the climbing gym. We ran some errands then relaxed at home.

    Favorite Christmas Recipes?

We make homemade pasta on Christmas Eve. We’ve perfected the gluten free recipe over the years (I can’t eat gluten). We also do homemade pies - likely cherry this year. I have done an overnight French toast casserole a few times for Christmas morning. DH and I love it but DD, not so much.

    Apple Watch

I have been debating about getting the Apple Watch for the past 6 months. I have loved my Fitbit but want to track more health related details and I really like some of the Apple Watch features and the convenience of it. I just went to the Apple store today to check out all the watch options...
