    "War" Stocks

For those of us who don't think war is inherently bad, it makes sense to provide the best armaments to help the good guys kill efficiently. I've done well with Lockheed Martin recently.

    Poll for Naming my Daughter

So can we override her with a supermajority? Or can we filibuster? (Like that would be a problem with the gabbers on here...) And what does that make you, the First Lady? Sorry, I guess that was a bit obvious. ;)

What do you put in your coffee?

Maybe if you make it using caffeinated water?

    Poll for Naming my Daughter

Is it too late to add more voting options? How about Darth Vader?

What do you put in your coffee?

Dang, all this coffee talk is so evocative, I think I'll have to make some Costa Rican coffee!

    Kiva.org

Hey, thanks for sharing this. I'd come across both organizations before, but it's nice to see an update and some more details about how they're doing!

Wait Times In Canada Or, Is This Our Future?

Welcome to Canada, where our pets get better medical care than we do. And if you think Canada's wait times are bad now, wait until the US "nationalizes" health care and the Canadians who now go to America for treatment join the line too. Just kidding, if the US ever does that I'm sure Canadians...

What do you put in your coffee?

Usually just an electric drip machine. Every once in a while I like to have a Turkish coffee. BTW, does anyone know if this is true? I heard somewhere that the phrase "a coffee" is a Canadianism, as in "hi, I'll have a coffee." Would this sound weird to you, i.e. would you expect something like...

What do you put in your coffee?

I drink my coffee like Condoleezza Rice -- hot and black. I agree with the coffee purists, why ruin something good? If it's really crappy coffee, I'll sometimes use milk or cream, and if it's so terrible that I'm only drinking it because I absolutely have to, then I'll add sugar as well as milk...

Poll on Health Insurance Costs for a married Couple with no kids

Where's the option for "a gazillion dollars but I can't actually say how much because I pay through taxes instead of in a free or semi-free market?" ;)

    Curious about Monikers

I knew as I wrote it that I left myself wide open dangling there up for a riposte.

    Whose truth?

Yeah, but if the fair witness found out he (or she) was in a psych. experiment, he might not grok the wall's color. ;)

    Curious about Monikers

I guess I won't post my proof pic because I don't want to screw up the HTML layout for any of the forum members, and some people are still running 32" LCDs. ;)

    Whose truth?

I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to, but I'm on board! ;)

    Curious about Monikers

That I'm cool, or that I'm a dude? Do you need photographic evidence?

    Curious about Monikers

    Well, I'm cool, and I'm a dude. 8)

Like England, can a third political party come along and challenge the ideology

Re: Like England, can a third political party come along and challenge the ideol What a strange coincidence -- I was just talking to a communist transsexual earlier today. What are the odds! P.S. I wholeheartedly support the idea of more than two parties having any chance at success, but I...

Dual citizen unsure of where to invest

Oh, and Paul, the easy way to avoid this is to avoid settling in Canada. ;) Seems like a country worth giving up on, anyway. Oops, I mean -- Canada's wonderful, come visit the Falls! You'd never want to go to Texas when you can spend time in peaceful Canada!

Dual citizen unsure of where to invest

Quick! Post a lot of boobies jokes! ;) On a serious note, what's this about under/over $80k? I'd never heard of that before. Come to think of it, learning the important rules governing US-Canada taxation is something I've been meaning to do for a while, although every time I try to learn about...

Is there anyone else here from the UK?

Yeah, but is it worth it when you consider the rattlesnakes, the armadilloes, the rednecks, the heat and humidity, the empty desert, and so on? Why not consider a trip to Canada, instead? We've got friendly people, four unique seasons, and a lot of other neat stuff! ;)

Is there anyone else here from the UK?

Not to worry, that's just our natural demeanor... But seriously, I think this is a great recommendation!

Is there anyone else here from the UK?

You can see who all responded to my similar question here. Not a whole lot at the time, although maybe they're just not very talkative. ;) Oh, and for what it's worth, I'm (somewhat obviously) not from the UK. ;)
