    About death and money

That's wonderful. Thank you for sharing this story. It is the way I want to handle things for myself. I am one of the students who benefited from such donations. As a physical therapist, studying the real human body via dissection was so critical for me to have a real 3 dimensional vision...

Travel Hack - Works for Me

I guess you are but I've never had an issue with them. I have indeed noticed that in the past year or two of using them that Priceline always tends to be the best price, unless you do the pay-ahead thing (which I would never do since prices often come down). I don't know if that's some...

    Dumbest Booking Error

DH has tons of these examples. 1) Fell asleep on the train from CT to NY. He missed his stop and ended up at the last run of the line when he woke up. 2) Flight delayed, so he went to the bar for a drink. Didn't hear the announcement that the flight actually was fixed somehow so it ended...

    Dumbest Booking Error

I feel your pain. I am so paranoid about making a big mistake. I verbally walk through all flight itineraries with hubby before hitting the "purchase" button. That helps...sort of...I think he only half listens so it really just takes the pressure off of me that if a mistake is made, I'm not...

Travel Hack - Works for Me

Oh that's great to know. I knew that about car rentals (via autoslash, which has saved us tons of money), but hadn't tried it with hotels. I am going to have to try the hotelslash program again. The last time I tried it I wasn't impressed with the results.

Would it work to just use an incognito window? From my understanding, the cookies are stored in a temporary folder and then the folder is deleted after you close the incognito window.

    2024 Travel Plans

We saw several moose (and a calve) in Alaska when we went to Denali and also on our road trip back to Anchorage.

We had so much fun! It was great catching up with those we've met before as well as meeting the newbies! Thanks again Omni for coordinating! Indeed, we all had so much fun talking that they essentially had to kick us out! I'm very impressed by those who drove so far to join us - thanks...

    2024 Travel Plans

Oh how exciting! We were just there in 2022. We did the hike to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point - fantastic! We also made time to go ride the aerial tram at Jackson Hole - had lunch and a drink at the top - so worth it! Enjoy!

    Road Trips 2024

Fort De Soto State Park is very pretty, although we found it quite buggy when we visited, which I think was May. So, YMMV. We just visited Savannah this past year, and absolutely LOVED Tybee Beach. Great island to bike around and there is a lovely beachfront place for lunch called the Deck...

Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Trip Recommendations

Eeeks! We are planning to go the first two weeks of October. I surely hope we don't get snow! Bryce is higher elevation, per my reading, so I'm betting that played a factor. We will be bringing layers for sure!

I've got Covid.... The thread for your covid experiences

I'm so sorry, this really is disappointing, but as you know is the safe decision. Could your son and his family possibly keep the tree up and you have a "second Christmas" sometime in January? I'm sure the grandkids would love another opportunity to open gifts from the grandparents. :)

Just discovered a GREAT option for rental car insurance

This is my main reason for using the American Express program. The last time I researched this, I learned that personal insurance typically does not cover "Loss of Use" charges from the rental car company.

    Gardeners

That's exactly how we love to roast them - so good! Never thought of freezing them - great to know they taste well when you defrost and reheat. Thanks!

    Gardeners

I love to make Pico de Gallo with mine, as well as roasted cherry tomatoes. FYI food pantries often are thrilled to receive garden donations, in my experience.

Just discovered a GREAT option for rental car insurance

I've been using the AE program for years and have also been impressed by it. One of the things I really like about it is it covers Loss of Use charges from the rental car companies. My understanding is that your personal insurance does not cover this charge, and that the $ can really rack up...

Good PPO plan for pre-65 in FL?

We use Florida Blue Options PPO/EPO. There are several Options Plans - we like to have an HSA so we go with the 1705 plan, even though it is a bit more expensive. It offers a very wide selection of providers, which is important to us, too. We use a broker to select plans every year. I give...
