    Great River Road Trip

Quite true. Fortunately, we were always with a large group and security was never in our thoughts. And, FWIW, we had front row seats (well, table) at a live performance of "Mama Mia" at a dinner playhouse.

    Great River Road Trip

We took the "Great River Tour" in our RV. We used "Fantasy RV Tours." I would do it again without hesitation. We started at Lake Itasca, where you can cross over the Mississippi River in a single (small) step and ended in an airplane ride out into the Gulf of Mexico to the end of the Delta...

DVR - What to buy and what can it record

Yes, Channels DVR can schedule recordings (as I mentioned, so can DirecTV Stream). I have come to be very impressed with Plex and I don't give it all the praise it deserves. It has come a long way since I originally installed it. A long way from its roots in KODI. I guess I don't have a...

DVR - What to buy and what can it record

I, too, have had SageTV for over 20 years. I am constantly amazed that a program that hasn't been upgraded (or even supported) in more than 10 years performs as well as or better than the current crop. In other words, I have had no issues with SageTV. I also have the original Tablo that I find...

Update on Cord Cutting (Cable TV) - 2021 version

I have a Fire TV Cube and the ROKU App delivers everything the article says. I had never opened it before but gave it a run-through. It is something that I, personally, am not interested in. BUT! I found that it should be called "Over the Air TV with 'On Demand.'" For someone looking for...

    AFIB is a Progressive Disease

I can only speak to my own experience with Coumadin. Did your doctor mention what he "didn't like" about Coumadin/Warfarin. There are lot of things I don't like but that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with them as YMMV is so true. Yes, it is true that the monitoring can be a...

    AFIB is a Progressive Disease

Yes, they are "for life." (or at least that's what I have been told and have no reason to dispute.) Yes, the newer drugs can be quite expensive (well, duh... can't cut into the high -- U.S. -- profit business model). However, prior to this year my co-pay (Medicare) was $10 for a 90-day supply...

Do you Autopay your Monthly Bills?

I autopay every thing I can. In fact, I get very irritated when it is not offered. As with State Farm Insurance Co. (4 policies) whom I have complained to for years -- However, I notice that the statement I received last week seems to now offer that option.

    AFIB is a Progressive Disease

I don't think you understand. The "Watchman" is an implanted device that is put in the left atrial appendage of the heart. It is not a wristwatch and definitely not a toy. https://www.watchman.com/en-us/home.html

    AFIB is a Progressive Disease

I, too, can (highly) recommend the KardiaMobile devices. I have used the six lead one for many years to monitor my Afib. I have the Card but have not had need to use it... yet. https://kardia.com/ https://store.kardia.com/products/kardiamobile6l

    AFIB is a Progressive Disease

Oh! After much research into the product, I was quite impressed. I am unsure what turned you off. My main reason for preferring Warfarin was the lack of any cost but other than that Watchman has my vote. I didn't mention it before but another reason I have for using Warfarin is that I visit my...

    AFIB is a Progressive Disease

I, also, have had permanent AFIB for at least 25 years... perhaps 5 years longer than that. I, too, am asymptomatic (which is why I don't know how long I've had it) and had no change in symptoms in all that time. I take Warfarin for which I have zero co-pay rather than the outlandishly priced...

Update on Cord Cutting (Cable TV) - 2021 version

There is a way around this... it is a little time consuming (well, not really). That is to use your favorite video recording App (PlayOn, Audials, Replay Media Catcher, etc.) to record the show and then MCEBuddy to extract the ads. I suspect this will also work for the provider's DVR function...

Best Battery Tire Inflator for Car?

I like this DeWalt tire inflator. It runs on Battery, 12v, or 110v. I carry it mainly for our car which doesn't have a spare tire. As far as power, it fills the RV tires to 80 psi with no problem at all (on battery)...

What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

The "Bodies" on Netflix is the strangest show I have ever watched. Strange in a good way, however. I didn't have a clue to what was happening nor did I, at the end, know what took place. It is a time-travel story that switches between four different times (1890, 1941, 2023, & 2053) randomly and...

    Looking for new Smart Watch

I, too, am partial to Garmin. I have had a VívoActive watch for about ten years now. I haven't considered any other mainly because I also have a Garmin Index BPM (Smart Blood Pressure monitor) and an Index S2 Smart Scale. That way all of my historical health data is in one place with Garmin...

    My FICO Score

You still have a FICO score. We have been "frozen" for over ten years and still get an update every month. As far as needing credit it is as they say: "Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it."
  23. RonBoyd

    My FICO Score

Perhaps not. We pay off each card (7) in full every month. (Score-847) I try to use each one at least once a month since I had, in the early days, some being cancelled for none use. A couple have a constant monthly balance in the $20 range and others at $4-5,000. I think the key is to have a...

    My FICO Score

Yeah, I was being facetious about the three points (rather poorly, I guess). Anyway, all of our credit cards update us every month as well as the three credit rating agencies.

    My FICO Score

For those that are worried about getting credit after retirement. This was sort of a surprise to me: I have not had a steady source of income for over twenty-five years... except SS. We run all expenditures through seven credit cards --about $4,000 a month (paid monthly). The $41,000 debt...
