Anyone see better than 4.25% on three year money?

Re: Anyone see better than 4.25% on three year mon

I have not seen a better rate lately, and I have looked.

Thanks, JG. I suppose I should be scared, since I am a shareholder, but they make consistent fat profits, so its hard to get excited.

Brewer,

Can't remember now if you already had CDs with PenFed but 3-year rate is 4.75 right now (but today is the last day this rate is offered).

Its actually for my parents, who are maxed out on Pen Fed already.

Correction: PenFed's 3-year rate is 4.5%, not 4.75%

sorry!

Brewer, you probably know this, but 'maxed out' for a couple could be as much as 400k -- I just checked with Penfed and they confirmed without hesitation (how do they train these people so well and find smart cust svc people who know stuff?) that a joint account is insured up to 200k under the National Credit Union Administration. Add to that individual accounts perhaps for another 200k? Anyway, in case you were stopping at a basic 100k there may be more room in the tank.
