I know there's a car contingent here, thought this might be a fun exercise. Name your 6 all time favorite production cars, but no more than 1 from each marque:
  • Ford-Mercury-Lincoln:
  • GM:
  • Chrysler-Dodge-Plymouth-Jeep:
  • Tesla:
  • BMW:
  • Mercedes:
  • Porsche:
  • VW-Audi:
  • Jaguar:
  • Ferrari:
  • Lamborghini:
  • Rolls-Bentley:
  • Honda-Acura:
  • Toyota-Scion-Lexus:
  • Nissan-Infiniti:
  • Mazda:
  • Subaru:
  • Volvo:
  • Other marque (if you haven't hit a total of 6 already):

I'll play, but thought someone else might like to start?

And here I thought we'd be doing analysis of Car-Guy's dreams. LOL.

I'll start. Most of my choices are reasonable to own with the exception of the 300 SL. A couple I have owned, really enjoyed, and would buy if they were made again like they were before.

1965 Plymouth Barracuda
1971 VW Westfalia
Toyota Land Cruiser
Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing
Chevrolet Impala early 60s
BMW 7 series

My list is incomplete, but I think I'd include:
  • 63-66 Corvette
  • Porsche 356 Speedster
  • 69-71 Mercedes 280SL (the Gullwing is just too unrealistic $ for me to list, though I agree)
  • AC Cobra
  • Jaguar XK140
  • BMW M5

Sure I'll play:

Ferrari 512BB
Ford GT40 (if you insist on mass production then replace with the more recent GT)
Lotus Exige
Toyota Supra (MkIV)
Porsche 997 GT3
Hummer H1 (or an MRAP if they'd let me have one)

The amount of damage I'd do in any one of these boggles the mind...

1965 – 67 Corvette Stingray (roadster)

1968 Jaguar XKE 4.2L Coupe

1962 Austin Healey 3000 MkII

1965 Pontiac GTO

1990 Mazda Miata

2006 Ford GT

Dad? [My Dad owned an Austin-Healey 3000, a 67 GTO and almost bought an XKE]

This list works for me, except for the Mercedes and the BMW. I'll take any of the others. And how!

My selection (at this hour, it changes. What can I say)

Jaguar XKE Series 1
Corvette 1962 fuely
Mazda Cosmo 110 Series 1 1967
Volvo P1800ES 1972-73
MG Airline coupe 1936-38
BMC Mini-Moke 1964- (or any variant)

I would have selected the '65 Barracuda but that was already mentioned so I thought I'd be different. You can tell from my selection, I am a bit different. I make no apologies.

62 Corvette
2015 Lincoln Navigator
1958 Mercedes 190SL or a Unimog (can't decide)
Ferrari Enzo
Bentley Continental
1946 Dodge Power Wagon

Sent from my iPad using Early Retirement Forum

* AC Cobra
*65/66 Vette (red of course)
*1970 Dodge Challenger convert. (Would prefer a 2015 model, but the ragtop
is not a production vehicle.)
*1969 Firebird Convert
*Current model Jag
*Pretty much any Ferrari

49-51 Mercury 2 door, preferably a chopped custom version, but stock is still great
65 Buick Riviera
70 Cuda HEMI
55 Chevy Nomad
63 Corvette split window coupe
66-67 Ford GT40 (the original ones)

no ferrin' cars for this boy!

Ford: 2015 F150 Platinum
Mercedes:2015 Maybach
Jaguar: 1960 XKE
Rolls-Bentley:1960 Rolls Royce Phantom V with chauffeur
Lexus:2015 LFA
Nissan: 2015 Nissan GT-R

If you noticed I didn't list any corvettes. After selling ours (except the 2014) this past year I don't think we could go back. So when my husband's feeling better we'll buy other cars. Geez I could have sold all of ours on here.

I had to look twice to be sure I didn't start this thread.

Only 6

OK, but not in any particular order. (That would be hard to do) Also, I'd need another 6 (or more) to list my favorite 60's vintage classics.

C7 Corvette Z06
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT
Porsche 911 Turbo
BMW M5
Nissan GT-R
AC Cobra (427) ---- I had to add at least one antique/collectable

I'll pick cars I might drive on the street.

XKE roadster Series I
AC Cobra (289)
Sunbeam Tiger
36 Ford Coupe
64.5 Mustang
65 Nova 327

I'm not sure if this list is supposed to be for unobtanium type of cars, or those that could be available within reason.

I have a couple of favorites ( I have odd tastes)

Citroen DS19 (I had a rusty one...)
Citroen DS21 Decapotable ...out of reach

Lotus Evora
Tesla Roadster
Porsche Boxster
Donkervoort D8 GTO (or any model actually)

Does the Bugatti Veyron count as production car? If so, Bugatti Veyron.

That's only 5.

[Edit] Well six then: Mazda MX-5

Some eye candy (my list):

60's to 2015 -
circa 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
Pinzgauer 718 - 6 wheel drive, go anywhere bugout vehicle
BMW Z3 M Coupe
Porsche 918 Spyder (it's a dream, right?)

2016
F250 Super Duty Platinum Diesel
Well trucks are cool, and I'll need something to trailer the beauties above with.

Left the list at five, but I could go on and on. Funny, I just toured a local auto museum last Saturday, practically in my back yard. A really serious car nut guy that grew up living and breathing cars, into all sorts of racing, even built limited productions vehicles for sale was the curator. He had a story for every vehicle there, and there were hundreds. Using the first letter of the manufacturer's name, he had all but two letters covered. Everything from Alfa Romeo to Zaporoschez.

69 ZL1 Camaro
66 GT350 Mustang
Dodge SRT Viper
Porsche 911 GT3 RS
BMW M5
Toyota Supra
Nissan GT-R
Subaru STI
