Credit Card rewards

If you travel and like Holiday Inns, check out the Priority Club visa.
Basically one point for one dollar, but they always have numerous promotions where you can earn lots of bonus points.  You can cash the points for almost anything and they never expire. 8)

Thanks for the tip Texas Proud, I was looking for a second card as we TOO have the dividend card with the 5% gas/groceries with the 300 dollar limit, we always hit it before year's end. Considering how many people here have that card, it's a good confirmation it is the best!

I have several cards (Citi and Chase) and am going to start doing this myself.
Seems like a no-brainer.

Thanks for all the tips. I'm going w/ the Citi for gas, groceries and pharm at 5% and then another card at 1% or 1.25% for the rest of my charges. I kept researching using Google and the links you provided and don't see anything better than that.

Thanks again. :D

We usually put everything on our Discover Card and then I use the double bonus feature to get our Blockbuster Movies for half price. We have put some of our son's college on it in the past. When the bonus adds up too much, then I just have them use part of the bonus to pay on the next bill.

I will definitely have to check into the Citi Dividend card also. Thanks for the great advice. I have not applied for a credit card online. I am a little leery giving out so much info. Has anyone done this without any problems?

I just made my first purchase using E-bay the other day. It turned out great. I guess I need to get with the times. I do bank online though.

I have a Costco AE and they have not charged me an annual fee yet or I would cancel it.    But you are correct about Cosco only allowing their CC to be used which is why I got one initially.  I rarely go to Costco, I prefer Sam's.  Less crowded.

I'll cancel Costco when my kids are on their own.  They buy their gas there.  I split Sam's with a friend and we alternate paying the membership.

I do everything online, credit card apps, heloc apps, etc. As long as your machine isnt infested with viruses or spyware (and you should have scanners for those, if not, get them) its probably more secure than writing it all down on a piece of paper where 1-5+ people might get their hands on the document...and whats done with it when the company finishes processing it? Does it get shredded or does it get dropped in a trash can by accident?

$100 gift card bonus after first use of the card.

Offer code F1E8

(i haven't tried this, already got the $100 gift when i got card from mail offer)

this is probably for the preferred rewards card that gets you gift certificates. not quite as good as cash, but you can use for gas cards exxon/mobil or others.

if you can't get the $100 promo on the cashback version, i think this more than makes up for the difference betwen cash & gift cards, since it might not be long before the 5% deal goes away IMO (too good to be true) and then we can all switch to penfed. :)

When I travelled on business I used AA and USAir visa cards to get more miles. Now that I've ER'ed I've booted all cards with annual fees and went with "hotel points" cards. Now we can sleep at a crappy joint on I-95 for free :D The old man loves his GM card.
