Midpack, that stinks! Sorry to hear that for you.
My Fed eFile return is delayed, my state was snail mail and I'm not worried about that. It's having my Fed eFile in a black hole that bothers me...I file early and hope for a quick acceptance to guard against return scammers.I'm continuing to have the same problem as Midpack on my state filing. State filing as not made until the Feds accept so that probably explains Midpack's state delay. My Fed was accepted quickly so I have no idea why the state remains pending. I guess I will wait until mid March and file with paper if nothing changes.
PP, suggest you contact SS to see if they show your mom as deceased and if so, get that corrected (easier said than done, I know). Sounds like that may be the source of your mom's problem with the IRS.
Finally decided to wait out a phone hold to talk with TT live. ....
The rep also wondered if it was because my return was $0 - no refund, no amount owed - I've never done that before. [I had a refund that I applied fully to 2021 estimated taxes, net $0]
We'll see...

Was your AGI $0? If this was the case then the IRS would likely not accept the e-file.
Normally I would think that your tax software would catch this and display an appropriate error message when you tried to e-file.
A workaround for $0 AGI returns that you would like to e-file is to put $1 of phantom income on the other income line. For a description say something like 'IN ORDER TO EFILE'.

AGI over $200K thanks to Roth conversions. Again, the only reason I had a $0 refund/amount owed is because I elected to apply our 2020 refund to 2021 estimated taxes. Most years I have an amount owed that I pay on Apr 14th...Was your AGI $0? If this was the case then the IRS would likely not accept the e-file.
It’s been 8 days for me so far, misery loves company...Its been more than 48 hours since I eFiled. TT says the status is "pending".
Shouldn't be. I've got a return like that which I'll have filed in the next day or two. If I remember to I'll come back to this thread Thursday and post an update.
