Ferrying to islands from FL

Has anyone taken a ferry to islands from Florida? Is this a viable way to save money going to the Caribbean, or should I just keep looking for airfare deals.

You mean to the Bahamas? There are several of one-day or there-and-back cruise operations that operate with the resorts there. No idea if they are cheaper, but they certainly take longer than flying even from FLL or MIA.

I looked and there are a few. Could not find a car ferry though, not sure if OP wanted that. Also, not sure if they are cheaper than flying.
