There's your friendly CSA.  The weekend WSJ has a story about the 100 or so designations financial advisers may be throwing about and how various agencies are trying to get a grip on them.
One example::State of Mass cracked down on firms touting Certified Senior Advisors specializing in (you guessed it) retirement planning.  They got the CSA title after a 3 day home study course and miultiple guess exam.
Long story short, the state found they were pushing annuities  that were not suitable for older investors.  Cease and desist order issued, but you can bet with the boomers crossing the 60 the fun has just begun. Social security at 70 anyone?
If you want to check out the meaning of these designations go to nasd.org and search under investor info and professional designations.  Yes CSA is there, but you'll need the yellow pages for a 3 piece, all white, done extra crispy. :p
