Hello Google Chrome!!! Goodbye MS

For about $60 a year you can get an automatic backup service in the cloud like Carbonite. Some services like Mozy offer free backup in the cloud but with a small gigabyte limit.

Note: if you use a cloud based service, put all financial and other personal information in an encrypted folder so all 'the cloud' gets is a bunch of nonsense.

Encryption can be a little tricky. If you put your data in an encrypted folder, it's a good idea to run a test from a second PC to make sure you will be able to decrypt it if your main PC dies unexpectedly.

Guess I'm the luddite in the group, still use a traditional desktop PC with Windows 7 and version 11 IE. I back up my HD every six months (with an external HD) and about once a year wipe and do a re-install of MS-Windows 7. Also run WOT, AVG anti-virus and Malware bytes protection. Still think cloud security is an issue and will be for sometime to come.

Wide open throttle?

Web of trust doesn't seem to work on bike porn, though.

Good choice of machine.

Smiling ...

So, it's a fast computer ....well, it's sort of a smart "terminal" with RF link substituting for wire ...connected to a server(s) substituting for a mainframe.

I think I'll store locally on two different drives ...when I get time to research encryption for offsite storage, I'll consider it.
