The good news is the for most commodities that people actually use corn, coffee, cotton the is you can buy twice to three times as much as you could per hour worked as you could 40 years ago.

The bad news is oil.

Fortunately gas mileage has also increase so the arguably more important figure. How many hours do I have to work to pay for the gas to take the family on vacation is relatively constant.
