I went to the Vietnam memorial near Taos, New Mexico this week. It was a powerfull experience and the juxtaposition of hot air ballons was not lost on me.
I belive we all need to play mind games with ourselves to get to the mental state where we can RE. Or to put things in perspective. Net worth spread sheets, investments projections, expense computations, what we want to do, what fears we have are just a few.
For me the most powerfull mind game was thinking about all those who have died young (er) and I asked if at as they neared the time of their death did they worry about not having enough money, what they would do, status at work or would they regret not retireing earlier.
The Vietnam memorial was a similar insight. Would any of the young soldiers let anything stop them from grabbing all the life they could?
