I'm done

Congrats and welcome to the ER club.

My comparable final "walk" to the exit just over 2 years ago was pretty ordinary. But while in the elevator for the last time, there was one question I did not have to ask myself any more, a question I had asked myself often while I rode in that elevator. The question was this: "Why am I still working here?"

I was not accompanied to the exit turnstiles in the lobby near the security station, so I had to get the attention of one the building's security personnel to turn in my company ID card after using it to exit through them for one last time.

Then came my long and lousy commute for the last time. About 75 minutes and two trains later I was home and yelled out, "I'm FREE!"

Congratulations!

Now what are you going to be when you grow up?
