Hello everyone - I will be going to Las Vegas in late May for a three day conference. It will be my first time in las Vegas. I will have only a few hours to visit. Which places should I see? Please advise. Thank you.

For a few hours? I would just walk down the strip and visit some of the hotels (not stopping for any games, or you can just stay in your hotel )...

I personally like the 'older' part of the strip which houses a lot of the original hotels (the 'cowboy and others' - I think it's now covered and treated like a walking mall. Just people watching there should be entertaining enough ;-)

I live in Vegas and if you have only a few hours walk the strip for a bit. The people watching is amusing.

If you have time to see a show, I would highly recommend Ka or LaRev. Ka is one of the best Cirque shows I've ever seen and LaRev is in the Cirque style but is water-based and is breath taking.

That's downtown Las Vegas, also known as the Fremont Experience for the covered lightshow canopy they have now. It is a great place to wander, hop into a few cheap casinos and get a shrimp cocktail. It is pretty far from Mandalay Bay. It's also a great place to do some cheap gambling and shopping.

If you're staying at Mandalay Bay, walking around it, the Luxor next door, and then to the Excalibur would eat up a lot of time, and give you a good variety of casinos (Expensive, not so expensive, and cheap, in that order). From there you can go across the street to see the Tropicana to see an old school smoke filled dingy casino.

Been there numerous times and I say walk around Bellagio or Wynn and check out their buffet.
