Live music cities?

Burlington, VT (home of University of VT) has a pretty lively club/music scene for a small city. Much of it isn't my style, but there sure are a lot of listings in the weekend section of the paper and in the alternative free weekly paper.

My hearing in my left ear is still damaged from being in Austin at one of his outdoor concerts (nanometers from a speaker on stage)

Stevie Ray Vaughn was a God. We should have lots of statues of him, I think. I have every CD he ever made and play them in the car daily. The best ugly blues guy ever.

Though SRV copied a fair amount of Jimi Hendrix, he owed much of his "style" to one Albert King...

Albert King was in Houston the year, I think, he died. The paper said that he had gotten old and played his concerts now like either a tired old man or did a fine concert. Dang..if he didn't play the one I heard with an instrument that broke strings; so, he played about half the concert.
HOWEVER, when he did play...oh, my God! He was phenomenal!!! Unbelievable he was so wonderful!!!! Like no other, really!!!! Then I walked out saying that I now understood why people made such a fuss over Albert King!!!!
I never got to hear SRV play, but I envy all who did!
