"Hey, nineteen...no we got nothing in common, no we can't talk at all; she thinks I'm crazy but I'm just growing old".
Have a BFF (age 66) married a 35 year old. Sounds like fun right?, but now he has two kids under 6 running around the house all day (somebody just shoot me!) No 2 PM naps for him!
Many of the men had little to no hair
I am handsome, healthy, and financially secure. Anyone here is between 30-45 and pretty.. Feel free to charm in. You already know the topic of our first date. ..hihihihi
Enuff

Okay, this is all pretty entertaining.

Hmmm....
If a man made a similar comment about a common genetic trait of many women that is beyond their control, I imagine there would be a flood of critical female comments about that.
Now I will go back to
You are so right about that. It is acceptable for women to make negative gender based comments about men's appearance, but if a man does the same about a woman, that is sexist and politically incorrect. Imagine for a moment if a man had written these comments....If a man made a similar comment about a common genetic trait of many women that is beyond their control, I imagine there would be a flood of critical female comments about that.

Exactly! I think that often men are a lot more interested in what a woman thinks and says and believes, than they are in $400 shoes.I always get a good laugh when we are out and I see very expensively dressed women eying up my husband. Even if he wasn't married, he is much too frugal to ever date someone wearing $400 shoes.

"Pretty" from a marketing kind of view for women might mean women who look like fashion models with designer clothes, expensive jewelry, have regular facials and seaweed wraps, manicures, pedicures, elaborate makeup and the latest hairstyles, which all come at a price.

$400 shoes = High Maintenance Female
No thanks.
Chicken feed, how about $3000 handbags!
What’s that line in RedNeck Woman? - I don’t need no designer tag to make my man want me.
I always felt that women should date younger men. Aging men can have stamina problems in the bedroom, which doesn’t seem to be a big issue with aging women. Also, men’s appearance in general seems to deteriorate more with age, possibly because women in general make more effort to preserve themselves. I was just looking at pictures from my 40th HS reunion. Most of the women looked fit and like they had taken care of themselves. Many of the men had little to no hair or all grey/white hair, were quite overweight, and looked much older than the women they were with. Since women tend to live longer than men, marrying a younger man makes sense vs marrying someone many years older.
My best friend is 56 and married a guy 8 years younger than she is. All the men her age and older couldn’t keep up with her. Now she has someone who can play 4-5 hours of beach volleyball with her, stay out late with friends, and all the other things she enjoys that the guys she dated in their 60’s couldn’t do. They look about the same age.
OTOH, my sister married someone 18 years older than she is. She is now very depressed as he has dementia, is incontinent, and has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She is only 63. She loves him but he is no longer the soul mate she fell in love with.
DH is 18 months older than I am, so we’re roughly the same age. I wasn’t thinking much about this when I was in my 30’s but hopefully we will age at a similar rate.
If I were single, I would never date a man much older than I am unless I couldn’t be financially independent. Then maybe I would marry a 98 year old. [emoji23]
This week I’d take any man with above average plumbing skills! Or roofing...hell, I’ll buy dinner!
I'm a lifelong single who never wanted to get married. Over the years, I've had three long-term relationships (13, 8, and 16 years) that were wonderful. We were best friends and had a lot of fun times.
The last relationship ended 10 years ago. I then did some online dating, but didn't meet anyone I cared to date more than once or twice.
I now live a life I've dreamed of -- traveling here and these plus snowbirding 6+ months/year. Footloose and fancy free.
Today I had a day of continuing education for a professional license I hold (but I don't practice). A guy in class just went nuts over me from the minute he laid eyes on me. I've never been complimented so much in such a short time. It was great for my ego, although he has no clue that he's 15 years younger than me. He kept asking me out, but I said I really am not available for a relationship as I am away so much. (Plus, being FIREd and retired, I'd just as soon find someone who could keep a similar schedule as I do.)
BTW, he's nice looking, has a full head of thick light brown hair, and a job, never married, no kids. Didn't have time to find out anything else.
So, not all of us senior ladies need to look at guys 70+ as our only option.
