Most beautiful (classical) music

Some pieces that I like to listen to time and time again are the following.

* Schubert's "Serenade"
* Chopin's "Tristesse"
* Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez, Second Movement or Adagio

My favorites would be anything by Puccini but the one that gets me the most is "o mio babbino caro", not a song from his most popular operas.

Followed by the Brandenburgs by Bach, which technically are not classical but baroque...

Anything from Mozart is my favorite......:)

Another Beethoven favorite of mine: Piano Sonata No. 8 Opus 13 "Pathetique"

The old WB cartoons were my introduction, as a child, to a lot of classical music.

Braumeister, must agree with you. There are many singers I adore, but Pavarotti is at the very least tied for the top. Also love Jessie Norman. Living in NY during the late 70s and 80s, I was blessed to hear both of them live many times. Pavarotti had a way of singing that gave no doubt that every cell of him was giving it all he had. Such an intuitive musician. Musikalisch, wenn nicht Musikantisch.
Pieces: I MUST have Strauss's Four Last Songs and Mahler's Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen

Two which tug at my heartstrings are Erik Satie's Trois Gymnopedies and Franz Lehar's Vilja-Lied from The Merry Widow. I also love the music of Mozart.
