Portfolio as Art

I look at investing as an art. Trying to be correct in allocations, picking low cost funds, minimizing the tax bite, keeping track of.. and on ad nauseum. That was a pain to me, and didn't do all that great, either.

I try to not sweat it anymore. I try to make informed choices of investment but there is a 'feel' for it that can override raw numbers. That is the art. I diversify, and call it good. It keeps ahead of the market benchmarks, sometimes barely, sometimes much better.

I do like a well functioning spreadsheet and graph, but that's bordering on an OCD elegance-of-function appreciation.

Artful living is my real goal.

Art .. not really.

More like a solid reality mirror as it goes up and down with randomness in steps bigger than an average (sometimes annual) paycheck. Things are a lot less stable than they seem to be, and you are much less in control than you think.

Sorry, bit in a downer mood today.

The statement came in today and I made fifty seven grand last month.

I guess I can buy me some art.

Heh, heh You and Mr. Market made $57K!

I'd respectfully suggest you wait a year or two to buy any art with it but YMMV.
