Should I Turn Off Printer Each Night?

Our wireless printer has been 'on' for the past five years ever since we bought it. The ones before that even longer. We never turn it off.

We do no print much any more. Last two were car registrations that we renewed on line and were required to have hard copy in each vehicle.

I have an inexpensive Brother B&W laser printer. It’s been a very good printer for many years now.

I did recently replace the drum unit (fairly cheap to do) since the quality of printer seemed to degrade - looked dirty and with some drop out in the dark areas. The toner cartridge was fine. I expect to get many more years from it.

I don’t printer a lot. maybe 1-2 times a week. I leave it turned on 24/7 and it goes into a sleep mode - but this sleep mode when not in use which keeps it visible on the network and I can printer to it from my Mac or iOS devices at all times.

I recall measuring the power usage with a Kilowatt a while ago and it was in the couple of watts range while on standby.
