Thinking of moving to Michigan

Highest car insurance in the US but due to change in July

It's not that bad; look around. I'm paying less than $500 for six months.

I'm in Michigan and had same insurance provider for years. Just recently, I went online and found a couple competitive offers. Took them to my provider. They miraculously came back with some "new programs" that customers like me "qualify for" that lowered my premiums 20% with same or better coverage. Nice result as I didn't have to change providers to get cost reduction. Car was big change. Boat no change. House decreased, but some of that was reducing coverage to more reasonable amount (seems they jack up house replacement value 5-7% every year, which exceeds reality).

Sorry for long post that's partially off-topic, but was pretty happy with results!

Seeds, paint, Meijer's, Menard's, blah, blah, blah. All of this is irrelevant. Just like Michigan usually does, they will still lose to Ohio State in November (of course, assuming there is football).

Can we please continue the “paint and seeds” discussion here and keep this thread on topics. :greetings10:

Confirmed -- all the posts are over at the new thread. They are just interwoven with other discussions now.

Life longer michigander. I live in what's called the tip of the mitt. 30 minutes from lakes huron and michigan.

Love it here. Elk, deer in my back yard, two blue ribbon trout streams within 15 minutes from my home. Clean air and water. Lots of bigger inland lakes to fish, and even more smaller lakes. Trails to walk or longer hiking/backpacking trails as well.

Long winters don't seem like it if you get out and take advantage of the possibilities. Ice fishing, snowmobiling, sking, casinos, theaters, local winter festivals. But if you do need a little motivation, did I mention its a legal marijuana state?
