Well, Think I Found That Burning Smell

This may be dating me, but I hate to think how many Heathkits I put together:)

Just this week I repaired an ancient Heathkit unit after scrounging some spare parts from the '70s. Somehow all its old caps, and the rest, are still working.

I'm a happy camper. :D

Changed the bad capacitors today. Computer worked fine on the first try. Overall, from start to finish, took me about 6 hours. Yet, a lot more convenient than buying a new PC and reinstalling all the programs and dealing with the settings.

I attached some pictures I took of the event.

Thanks. Fun to DIY. Especially when things work out.

Plus, now I have a new desoldering tool and capacitor meter (a DIYer has to have new toys :D).
