(I was going to add this to the "Facebook" thread but decided it deserved a place of its own.)

I was one of those who have believed that the Internet privacy issue was something that only the truly paranoid (and perhaps Law Enforcement)need be concerned about. It certainly wasn't something I personally needed to waste much time on.

Boy, was I wrong.

Glenn Greenwald in this TED talk explains why even perfectly law-abiding people need to take notice.

(Yeah, it is 20 minutes long -- 15 min. of monologue and a 5 min interview in which he discusses Edward Snowden but well worth it.)

An interesting talk. Thanks.

On one hand I do believe there is way too much invasion of privacy.

Yet, on the other hand, I just can't see Snowden as some kind of hero. He seems more spy than hero to me (The latest news is that his girlfriend, who he said he left behind, has happily moved to be with him in Russia).
