It not too late but it might be a bad time to invest in stocks. Stocks are currently overvalued by historical measures and some believe are a bubble that will either pop or slowly lose air.

I've been watching a former highflying ETF called ARK Innovation (ARKK)
I researched it's top 10 holdings. I'm not claiming any of them are undervalued, but it sure looks like the bubble has already lost a lot of air.

The fund itself was trading at $137 on January 1, 2021, now it's around $55

Current price & 52 week high.

I've been watching a former highflying ETF called ARK Innovation (ARKK) ...
I've been watching it too. For amusement.

This is the kind of fund that comes with any bubble. Fund goes up like a rocket ship, manager is hailed as genius, fund crashes with the bubble, manager disappears into wealthy obscurity having collected huge fees during the rocket ride. Cathy Wood, the manager here, is one of the better hucksters I have seen. Even as the sun is setting she is attracting greater fools with outrageous predictions of fund performance.

You never know, but Sir John Templeton's observation is a good one to remember: “The four most expensive words in the English language are 'This time it’s different.' ”

Find every asset allocation calculator you can and do them all. Include https://www.aacalc.com and read about how they all work. Then decide on your asset allocation. Once you have your asset allocation, and selected your low cost funds to use, there is only one thing to do when Mr. Market decides to go crazy, rebalance to your specified asset allocation.

I'll add, that the particular AA you choose is not so important as having chosen one and sticking with it. Good Luck.
